The Self Served Platform Infrastructure team is responsible for designing, developing, sustaining, supporting an d maintaining a container friendly infrastructure based on Kubernetes. We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join a team that sustains, manages, an d maintains server side functionality that is used to create user personal agent applications. Voice recognition, big data , an d cloud computing are technologies that lives an d runs in the Container friendly infrastructure We are looking for someone who is interested in providing an infrastructure as a service to other teams within the Mobility department. Who can help keeping the infrastructure up to date with the fast moving complex technology that evolves around Linux containers, an d as well, take better control of our existing systems an d infrastructure while helping to make decisions about new infrastructure design an d technologies to make it better an d more secure. The successful candidate will be a smart team player, capable of collaborating in a fast paced, devops oriented environment as well capable of working very independently with a high level of self-motivation. Responsibilities: Develop automation an d processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale an d monitor their applications in data centers an d in different public clouds Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements an d conducting tool evaluations Participate in the creation an d support of an infrastructure as code solution for providing internal users access to a container friendly infrastructure Provide Kubernetes best practices an d templating for the different users to help them meet their different deployment requirements Manage the creation, deployment an d monitoring of containers using orchestration an d configuration management tools as well as monitoring an d alerting framework. System troubleshooting an d problem solving across platform an d application domains Required Skills: 3-7 years of experience BS/MS University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science Ｏr equivalent Strong communications skills Able to communicate an d work effectively with multiple teams Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration an d Continuous Delivery Proficient at writing code an d do so in order to automate infrastructure, improve system reliability an d optimize continuous delivery pipelines Solid understanding an d experience working with high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems an d hybrid cloud environments. Comfortable with Agile an d DevOps methodologies an d working closely within small teams Experience with version control systems such as Git Extensive knowledge of Linux based systems including hardware, software, networking Strong software/system troubleshooting an d problem-solving capability Solid experience working with Ruby, Python, Golang Ｏr Java Fluency in both written an d spoken English is a must Preferred Skills: Experience with container technology like Docker, lxc Experience with orchestration tool for container like Kubernetes, Docker Swarn, Marathon Experience working with distributed systems like Zookeeper, Cassandra an d Apache Mesos Experience working with distributed key-value store like etcd an d consul Experience working with distributed monitoring an d alerting framework like sensu, uchiwa, grafana, graphite, elk an d influxDB. Experience working with public cloud provider’s api, more precisely Azure Track record of open source contributions
