REPORTS TO: R&D Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES an d RESPONSIBILITIES
Has direct management responsibilities for engineers an d designers, including appraisals, terminations, disciplinary measures, an d salary recommendations.Provides regular work direction to R&D team members.Proactively collaborates with all relevant stakeholders in developing project proposalsParticipates in the process to develop project scope, requirements, financial justifications, schedules, priorities, costs.Represents the technical R&D team in project cross-functional team meetings in China, US, DenmarkEnsures that product requirements are fully defined, Updated, an d met by the technical R&D team.Develops detailed technical R&D project plans, monitors progress an d assigns responsibilities to project members in order to meet project objectivesEvaluates an d implements plans to meet objectives regarding quality, project cost, product cost, durability an d timingFacilitates significant design review project events GloballyIdentifies risks an d leads resolution of design issues.Ensures that corporate quality processes are coordinated an d aligned in projects in order to ensure quality targets are metEnsures that all aspects of product design an d documentation are developed in compliance with engineering principles, company standards an d other specificationsCollaborates with procurement on early supplier involvement to ensure component manufacturability, cost control an d deliveryLeads technical R&D project team from project initiation through product launchFacilitates all technical R&D team meetings, assigning an d monitoring tasks for completion in allotted timeframeResponsible for defining an d codifying best practices for technical team product development an d introduction processes; templates an d standardization; efficiency improvements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.S.M.E. preferred) Or equivalent engineering educationEXPERIENCE:Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in mechanical an d systems engineering in Global Multinational companies, including 5 Or more years of management / project management experience leading multidisciplinary design teams. COMPUTER SKILLS:
Understanding of Pro/Engineer (Creo 3.0)and CAD software an d other development softwareProficiency in use of MS Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint an d ProjectWorking knowledge of ERP systems
